Job summary

Tina Lacey Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Employability Practitioner Skills Coach to deliver and assess apprenticeship programmes across Yorkshire. The role requires driving to learner sites and client workplaces with frequent visits and a strong learner-support focus.

You will teach, coach and guide learners through apprenticeship standards, ensuring knowledge, skills and behaviours are met. A Level 3 qualification and coaching credentials are expected, with travel and progression opportunities

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Employability, Learning and Development, Advice and Guidance, Education, Business Administration, Customer Service, or related subject, or equivalent occupational experience.
• Coaching, Mentoring, Teaching, Assessing, or Learning and Development qualification (or willingness to work towards), such as TAQA, CAVA, AET, or equivalent.
• Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
• Experience of coaching, mentoring, training, or supporting individuals within employability, education, apprenticeships, recruitment, welfare-to-work, youth services, or a related environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach, coach and support the development and progression of learners on apprenticeship programmes.
• Ensure delivery of apprenticeship standards, knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout the learner journey.
• Conduct regular teaching and learning visits to ensure continuous development and progression.
• Support learners in work-based settings using a blended learning approach.
• Contribute to quality processes and learner progression records.

£28k- £34k Permanent Full Time 80% remote 20% on the road/meeting learners in the workplace/team meetings at HQ in Barnsley

The role of the Employability Skills Coach is to teach, coach and support the development and progression of our learners on apprenticeship programmes. You will ensure the delivery the apprenticeship standards knowledge, skills and behaviours or framework components throughout the learner journey are delivered through a quality process. Teach, coach and support learners within work-based settings delivering effective and engaging training via a blended learning approach. To conduct regular teaching and learning visits to ensure continuous development, progression and achievement of learners allocated on the caseload.

We are looking for you to have:

• Level 3 qualification in Employability, Learning and Development, Advice and Guidance, Education, Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related subject, or equivalent occupational experience.
• Coaching, Mentoring, Teaching, Assessing, or Learning and Development qualification (or willingness to work towards), such as TAQA, CAVA, AET, or equivalent.
• Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
• Experience of coaching, mentoring, training, or supporting individuals within employability, education, apprenticeships, recruitment, welfare-to-work, youth services, or a related environment.
• Proven experience of supporting individuals to develop skills, overcome barriers, achieve goals, and progress into employment, apprenticeships, or further learning.
• Knowledge and understanding of employability programmes, apprenticeship standards, work-based learning, and career development practices.
• Understanding of learner-centred coaching techniques, target setting, action planning, progress reviews, and evidence collection.
• Knowledge of government-funded training programmes, employability initiatives, apprenticeships, or adult learning provision.
• Good understanding of labour market information, employer expectations, recruitment processes, and current employment trends.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
