Job summary

Universal Quantum is hiring an Electronics Engineer - Design and Verification to join the Electronics Group in laying the groundwork for quantum technologies. You will lead testing of electronic circuits and subsystems, design and test analogue and digital electronics, and document verification activities.

You will collaborate with mechanical, software engineers and physicists while helping build test systems for quantum computers and maintaining state-of-the-art electronics.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in electronics design and verification.
• Ability to develop and execute test plans on complex systems.
• Analogue design experience required.
• PCB design with CAD tools.
• Experience with low-noise design approaches.
• Experience working with suppliers/contractors.
• Strong documentation discipline.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related discipline (2:1).

Responsibilities

• Lead testing of integrated electronic circuits and subsystems.
• Design, build and test electronics solutions using analogue and digital circuits.
• Write documentation of electronics circuits and verification tests.
• Develop experience across a broad range of electronics topics.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software engineers and physicists.
• Play a key role in building test systems for quantum computers.
• Maintain state-of-the-art electronics solutions.
• Assist with planning and scheduling of projects and reporting progress.
• Engage in project planning, risk management and scheduling.
• Assist with proof-of-concept and feasibility discussions.
• Develop understanding of firmware/software used to control quantum computers.
