Universal Quantum Ltd. is seeking an Electronics Technician to join the Electronics Group, supporting electronics development and lab maintenance. The role involves PCB prototyping, soldering, data collection, and maintaining lab processes and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with electronics, PCB assembly, and test equipment, plus a strong focus on quality and collaboration in a lab environment. Competitive salary and relocation support offered.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience with electronics components, PCB wiring, soldering and test equipment.
• Experience with surface-mount assembly techniques (stencil pasting, pick-and-place, reflow).
• Ability to read and interpret electronics schematics.
• Proficiency with standard electronics test equipment: DMMs, oscilloscopes and function generators.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and good lab practices.
• Experience building test setups for electronics and electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience working with suppliers and contractors.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a team player.
• Degree or relevant experience in engineering or electronics or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• PCB design and test circuit prototyping using Altium.
• Assemble low-volume PCB prototypes and perform precise rework of components.
• Conduct electronics testing and data collection, organizing setups and test rigs.
• Basic mechanical CAD for IO panels and 3D printed parts.
• Mechanical fabrication and assembly including 3D printing and cable making.
• Source components based on defined specifications.
• Provide engineering problem-solving support in the lab.
• Support Health and Safety and drive 5S principles.
• Maintain equipment, organize assets and track inventory.
• Ensure stock of essential supplies such as resistors and solder.
• Coordinate with facilities for planning activities and risk management.
