Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance strategy in a busy Standish manufacturing environment. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and project delivery.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will supervise technicians, own improvement projects from concept to delivery, and drive equipment reliability, maintenance standards and safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
• Apprenticeship background in electrical/mechanical discipline.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a highly regulated environment.
• Commitment to health, safety and high standards.
• Ability to work across functions.
• Experience supervising or leading maintenance personnel is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the maintenance team to ensure the effective running of production.
• Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and support to maintenance technicians.
• Deputise for the Maintenance Manager when required.
• Promote and ensure effective use of the CMMS, recording maintenance activities.
• Monitor equipment condition, identify abnormalities and highlight risks.
• Set priorities and focus resources on preventive maintenance and key opportunities.
• Identify replacement parts and manage ordering through approved channels.
• Manage and submit Management of Change requests for non-like-for-like replacements.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and to required standards.
• Audit task completion and provide feedback on performance.
• Diagnose faults and technical issues across equipment range.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support investigations.
• Communicate overhaul and return-to-service timelines.
• Use data to support decision-making in maintenance.
• Identify training needs within the team and address them.
• Support continuous improvement in maintenance and reliability.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment in Standish. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical maintenance professional looking to take a lead role, combining hands‑on technical expertise with team leadership, maintenance planning and project delivery.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the effective running of production, providing day‑to‑day supervision to maintenance technicians and deputising for the Maintenance Manager when required. You will also have the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through to delivery, while driving improvements in maintenance standards, equipment reliability and team performance.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

• Lead and support the maintenance team to ensure the effective running of production.
• Provide day‑to‑day supervision, guidance and support to maintenance technicians.
• Deputise for the Maintenance Manager when required.
• Promote and ensure effective use of the company's CMMS, ensuring maintenance activities are accurately recorded.
• Monitor equipment condition, identify abnormalities and highlight potential risks.
• Set clear priorities and ensure maintenance resources are focused effectively on preventative maintenance and key business opportunities.
• Identify replacement parts and manage ordering through approved channels.
• Manage and submit Management of Change requests where replacement equipment or components are not like‑for‑like.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and to the required standards.
• Audit task completion and provide feedback where standards fall below expectations.
• Diagnose faults and technical issues across a range of equipment.
• Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to support investigations and resolve technical problems.
• Ensure equipment overhaul and return‑to‑service timelines are clearly communicated.
• Use maintenance and equipment data to support effective decision‑making.
• Identify training and development requirements within the maintenance team and ensure these are appropriately addressed.
• Support continuous improvement across maintenance activities and equipment reliability.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

• Previous experience working in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.
• An electrical/mechanical apprenticeship background.
• Strong technical problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working within a highly regulated environment.
• A strong commitment to health, safety and maintaining high standards.
• The ability to work effectively with colleagues across different functions.
• Experience supervising or leading maintenance personnel would be advantageous.
