Talentmark are recruiting a Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a major chemical and polymer manufacturer based in Standish. You will provide technical leadership to the maintenance team and oversee safe, reliable operation of production equipment.

The role involves diagnosing faults, planning preventative maintenance, managing projects and ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards.

Job description

Talentmark are currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a major Chemical and Polymer manufacturer based in wigan on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a great opportunity to join the maintenance team, supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of production equipment while providing technical leadership to the maintenance team.

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience

Location: Standish Site

Hours: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, allocating work and supporting team development.
• Diagnose electrical and equipment faults, carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Monitor equipment condition, identify risks and use maintenance data to improve reliability and performance.
• Manage maintenance projects, equipment upgrades, replacement parts and Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Ensure all maintenance activities meet required health, safety, quality and compliance standards, while supporting the Maintenance Manager when required.

Skills & Requirements:

• Experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment, ideally with an electrical/mechanical apprenticeship background.
• Strong technical problem-solving and fault-finding skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Experience working within highly regulated environments, with a strong commitment to safety and maintaining high work standards.
• Relevant electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition and COMPEX; an Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree (BEng Hons) would be desirable.
