Qualifications

• Proven experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing.
• Apprenticeship or recognised technical training in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• COMPEX qualification.
• A BEng (Hons) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is desirable.
• Experience working within highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise electrical maintenance technicians on a day-to-day basis.
• Support the Maintenance Manager and deputise when required.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify potential issues and risks.
• Plan and prioritise preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure CMMS is used effectively and maintenance records are accurate.
• Diagnose electrical faults and support technical investigations.
• Procure replacement parts and manage approved supplier channels.
• Manage changes where replacement equipment is not like-for-like.
• Support maintenance projects from concept to delivery.
• Ensure on-time return-to-service after overhauls.
• Audit task completion and drive improvements in standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Support training and development of maintenance staff.

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring the effective and reliable running of production.

This is a permanent position and is ideal for an experienced electrical maintenance professional who is confident leading technicians, diagnosing equipment issues and supporting maintenance and improvement projects.

The Role

As a Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will support the Maintenance Manager in leading the maintenance team and ensuring equipment is maintained safely, effectively and reliably.

You will be involved in:

• Leading and supervising electrical maintenance technicians on a day-to-day basis
• Supporting the Maintenance Manager and deputising when required
• Monitoring equipment condition and identifying potential issues and risks
• Planning and prioritising preventative and corrective maintenance activities
• Ensuring the CMMS is effectively used and maintenance records are accurately maintained
• Diagnosing electrical and equipment faults and supporting technical investigations
• Identifying replacement parts and arranging procurement through approved channels
• Managing changes where replacement equipment is not like-for-like
• Supporting maintenance and engineering projects from concept through to delivery
• Ensuring equipment overhauls and return-to-service timelines are clearly communicated
• Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and to the required standards
• Auditing task completion and addressing any areas where standards fall below expectations
• Using maintenance data to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment and production issues
• Supporting the training and development of maintenance team members

Requirements

To be successful, you should have experience with:

• Electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Leading or supervising maintenance technicians
• Electrical fault finding and technical problem-solving
• Preventative and reactive maintenance
• CMMS / maintenance management systems
• Working within a highly regulated environment
• Supporting engineering or maintenance projects
• Identifying equipment risks and maintenance requirements
• Strong health and safety awareness
