Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in Scotland to lead electrical and EICA design for water sector projects. Based in Edinburgh with hybrid working, you will drive technical governance and deliverables across treatment works and pumping stations, guiding multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with clients and contractors.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to bids and knowledge sharing, and champion best practices to strengthen Stantec's water capability in Scotland.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng), or working towards professional registration.
• Significant experience delivering electrical or EICA design within water, utilities, infrastructure or related industries.
• Proven experience leading technical delivery across complex multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and EICA design across treatment works, pumping stations and associated assets.
• Provide technical governance, design assurance and engineering guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and review Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Network Infrastructure Diagrams, specifications and control philosophies.
• Work with project managers, clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Help clients improve resilience, environmental performance and meet sustainability targets.
• Mentor and develop engineers, building future talent within the discipline.
• Contribute to bids and framework opportunities.
