Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in London/Croydon is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across a range of UK building services projects. You will take overall technical responsibility, own project delivery, and manage client relationships with confidence.

The role requires a strong consultancy background, extensive knowledge of UK standards, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in electrical building services engineering.
• Strong consultancy experience with a proven track record.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical building services design and UK standards.
• Experience taking technical ownership of projects.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery.
• Strong AutoCAD skills; Revit/BIM experience would be advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Proactive approach and the confidence to lead the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and delivery of projects from concept to completion.
• Take overall technical responsibility for electrical elements.
• Coordinate electrical design teams and work with other disciplines.
• Develop and review calculations, specifications, drawings, and docs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and stakeholders.
• Attend design meetings, site visits and project reviews.
• Review designs to meet standards and client requirements.
• Support project planning, resourcing and delivery.
• Contribute to development of the electrical engineering team.
