Job summary

Aldwych Consulting, a London-based building services consultancy, is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join its senior leadership team. You will lead an internal team, oversee project delivery, and contribute to ongoing growth while ensuring technical excellence and sustainable design.

You will coordinate resources, manage client relationships, and supervise electrical design across multiple projects, balancing technical leadership with commercial oversight and effective programme

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Strong experience within a UK building services consultancy.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical building services design and UK standards.
• Proven experience managing projects, fees, resources and delivery programmes.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
• The ability to balance technical responsibilities with commercial and managerial priorities.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress towards professional accreditation.
• Experience with Revit, BIM and digital engineering workflows.
• Exposure to sustainable building design and low-carbon engineering solutions.
• Experience contributing to business development and client account management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of electrical building services engineers.
• Act as line manager, supporting team members' welfare, professional development, workloads and day-to-day activities.
• Oversee the successful delivery of all projects within your team, ensuring quality, programme and budget requirements are met.
• Lead electrical design and multidisciplinary coordination across multiple projects.
• Manage project fees, resources, budgets and commercial performance.
• Act as Project Lead on selected schemes, overseeing technical delivery and client communication.
• Coordinate with mechanical, public health, architectural and structural teams.
• Provide technical guidance, design reviews and mentoring to engineers at different levels.
• Support client relationships, business development and the development of new opportunities.
• Promote best practice in sustainable design, BIM coordination and technical quality.
