Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical and electronic control systems for global energy projects.

You will own engineering activities from concept through delivery, coordinating with international customers and multidisciplinary teams across the UK, Poland and Vietnam. Strong leadership and robust design skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Controls Engineering and strong theory.
• Proven experience in electrical/electronic design for AC/DC systems.
• Fluent English and strong communication in cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight, run design reviews, guide engineers, assure standards compliance.
• Deliver electrical/electronic engineering designs, analyses and calculations.
• Produce, review and maintain engineering documentation (Design Specifications, schematics, SLDs, wiring diagrams, specs, test procedures, BOMs).
• Ensure on‑time delivery of high‑quality engineering packages with full safety and compliance.
• Respond to technical queries and support workshop/offshore activities and investigations.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design issues.
• Support development of power, control, communication and electronic/PCBA systems.
• Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and promote best engineering practice.
