Job summary

Baker Hughes in Ashby, United Kingdom, is seeking a Lead Engineer, Mechanical, Product Design and Engineering to join the Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Department. You will support development, new-build, and services projects through advanced engineering analysis, including structural FEA and rotor dynamics calculations.

The role requires MSc in Mechanical Engineering, experience with MATLAB and ANSYS, and rotating equipment design/analysis.

Qualifications

MSc in Mechanical Engineering required.
Proven experience with MATLAB and ANSYS.
Experience in design and analysis of rotating equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

Support development, new-build, and services projects through engineering analysis, including structural FEA and rotor dynamics.
Coordinate engineering activities with teams in the UK, the Netherlands, India, and the Czech Republic.
Develop technical specifications and supplier quality requirements.
Provide technical support to Purchasing teams, including supplier qualification.
Ensure designs meet technical, safety, and environmental requirements.
Drive technical and process improvements using modern engineering methodologies.
Promote best practices across Engineering Design within Generator Value Streams.
Supervise testing activities at the Czech Republic test facility.
Troubleshoot issues on installed machines and support customers globally.
Support Sales with technical concepts and customer solutions.
