Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to join the Energy unit in the Nuclear, Defence and Civil division. Lead design analyses, mentor junior engineers, and develop client relationships across regulated nuclear projects.

The role focuses on delivering concrete and steel structure designs, applying Eurocodes and British Standards, and driving bids from concept to completion in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Chartership with Institution of Civil or Structural Engineers and extensive post graduate experience.
• Experience in design of concrete and steel structures.
• Strong knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.
• Experience leading projects from concept to completion.
• Excellent communication skills with client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis with verification and validation.
• Review analysis of other staff members.
• Develop the skills of junior staff.
• Produce and review design calculations supporting analysis.
• Lead analysis teams on projects.
• Lead preparation of bids and estimates.
• Work within a multi-discipline environment ensuring effective communication with project stakeholders.
• Attend site or other offices to complete surveys or attend meetings.
