Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Senior Building Services Engineer to join our Nuclear, Defence and Civil division in the UK. You will contribute to design calculations, documentation, and bid support across high‑profile projects, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering excellence.

Candidates should hold a degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, preferably be Chartered, and bring experience in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status with IMechE or other professional body.
• Experience delivering written work (Specifications, Basis of Design, etc).
• Experience in regulated environments (Health/Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Pharma or Rail).
• Knowledge of CIBSE guidelines and standards.
• Experience using design software (Revit/AutoCAD).
• Good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to nuclear projects across Defence and Civil divisions.
• Produce detailed design calculations and supporting documentation.
• Create and review design drawings, layouts, and schematics (HEHV, LV, LEV, BMS).
• Estimate work elements including equipment and man hours.
• Support bids and estimates.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations.
• Mentor junior staff.
