Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Principal Electric Systems Engineer – Motor drives in Wolverhampton. You will provide technical leadership for motor drive development, overseeing power electronics and control electronics, and ensuring integration within the actuation system.

Based in a new Collins facility, you will lead cross-functional teams across electronics, software, firmware and test engineering, and drive verification, validation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Significant experience designing, developing and verifying motor drive systems.
Strong expertise in power electronics design including inverter topologies.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for design, development and verification of motor drive systems.
Own technical architecture and design decisions for motor drive products.
Lead and coordinate activities across electronics, software, firmware and test engineering.
Collaborate with mechanical and systems leads to integrate motor drive controller into actuation.
Develop robust requirements and support risk and change control processes.
Lead validation, verification and testing plans for the motor drive controller subsystem.
Monitor emerging technologies and advocate innovative approaches for differentiation.
Drive evidence-based engineering with simulations, root-cause analysis and DOE.
