Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Principal Electric Systems Engineer – Motor drives in Wolverhampton to lead the design and verification of motor drive systems for aerospace actuation. You will own architecture decisions and coordinate across electronics, software, firmware, and tests, ensuring integration with mechanical and systems teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Control Engineering.
• Significant experience designing, developing and verifying motor drive systems and power converters.
• Strong expertise in power electronics design and controller architectures.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the design, development and verification of motor drive systems, including power electronics, control electronics, converter topologies and motor control algorithms.
• Own the technical architecture and design decisions for motor drive products throughout the development lifecycle.
• Lead and coordinate technical activities across electronics, software, firmware and test engineering related to motor drive activities.
• Collaborate with mechanical and systems leads to integrate the motor drive controller subsystem into the overall actuation architecture.
• Develop robust requirements and support risk and change control processes for the motor drive subsystem.
