Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) District Nursing Service is seeking a Specialist Practitioner District Nurse for a 16-hour-per-week, part-time role based at Glasgow City HSCP. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, deliver high-quality community nursing, and ensure care is patient-centred and safe.

The post requires a live NMC pin, driving licence, PVG/Disclosure Scotland, and autonomous clinical decision-making within the district nursing remit. Flexible working options may be discussed.

Qualifications

• Current registration with NMC
• SPQ Advancing Practice in District Nursing (Level 11 Masters)
• V300 Independent Prescribing & Advanced Clinical Assessment
• Ability to demonstrate leadership and management competencies
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• IT skills-word processing/email/internet
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to work to challenging deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Previous experience in primary care/community setting

Responsibilities

• Provide accessible, high-quality, person-centred nursing in the community
• Lead and manage the District Nursing Team and allocate resources
• Coordinate care with GPs, social care and other professionals
• Deliver skilled nursing interventions for patients in caseload
• Offer autonomous clinical decision-making and risk management
• Support 24/7 community nursing service with open access policy
