Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) to work with children, families and schools across Glasgow. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care and targeted interventions, promoting wellbeing and reducing health inequalities.

The role requires an active NMC pin, Specialist CPHN qualification, and ability to travel. Interviews on 30 November; based in Glasgow City HSCP with fixed hours.

Qualifications

• NMC pin active and current registration.
• Specialist Community Public Health Nursing qualification in School Nursing or Public Health Nursing.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Significant experience with children, families and communities.
• Knowledge of GIRFEC and safeguarding policies.
• Current UK driving licence for community travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and evaluate programmes of care for school-aged children.
• Lead on emotional health, wellbeing, transitions and child protection interventions.
• Contribute to Child's Plans using GIRFEC model.
• Collaborate with schools, families and health professionals for joined-up care.
• Manage caseloads and respond to referrals and changing demands.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the nursing team and students.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
