Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a District Nurse (Specialist Practitioner) for a part-time 16 hours per week role based at Glasgow City HSCP. The post involves leading the district nursing team, providing advanced clinical care, and coordinating a 24/7 community service across adults in the home.

The successful candidate will hold NMC registration, possess district nursing specialist qualifications, and have experience in primary/community care.

Qualifications

• Current registration with NMC
• SPQ Advancing Practice in District Nursing (level 11 - Masters Level)
• V300 Independent Prescribing & Advanced Clinical Assessment
• Ability to demonstrate leadership and management competencies
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• IT skills—word processing/email/internet
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work to challenging deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Previous experience in primary care/community setting

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, culturally sensitive nursing services to all age groups in the community.
• Lead and coordinate district nursing team to deliver care 365 days a year.
• Perform autonomous, advanced clinical assessments and nurse prescribing within scope.
• Coordinate workload and delegate tasks to team members.
• Respond to urgent district nursing needs and prioritise care.
