Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced District Nurse with Band 7 leadership to join the Community District Nursing team in Shiremoor. The role is a permanent full-time post working 37.5 hours per week across a 7 day service, 8-8 with weekends in a supportive NHS trust.

The post emphasises clinical leadership, complex patient care, mentorship, and professional development within a high-performing organisation committed to staff and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse – Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent.
• District Nursing Practitioner qualification with Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) or Advanced Clinical Skills and non-medical prescribing V300 supplemented by leadership programme.
• Completion of leadership program or equivalent leadership qualification.
• Registered Mentor

Responsibilities

• Deliver and lead highly specialist clinical care to your own caseload and service within your speciality area.
• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient-centred programmes of care ensuring practice within your sphere of competence.
• Establish and maintain robust communication networks with patients, carers, team members, GPs and other professionals and agencies.
