Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Rothbury is seeking a District Nursing Staff Nurse (Band 5) on a 37.5 hour contract, with full time and flexible working patterns. Working with GPs and community teams to deliver home-based care.

Successful applicants must hold the UK NMC Part 1 registration, have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, and be committed to high standards of professional practice as part of our district nursing service.

Qualifications

• State Registration on Part 1 of the 3 part NMC register.
• Newly qualified staff will be required to undertake the Trust preceptorship programme within the first year in post.
• Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of students (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period unless post is bank only)

Responsabilités

• Development and delivery of programmes of health and social care.
• Delivery of care to patients with a terminal illness and their families including emotional and bereavement support.
• Performance of skilled nursing care including wound management, palliative care and catheterisation.
• Performance of diagnostic tests such as Ankle Brachial Pressure Index using Doppler and interpretation of results.
• Performance of procedures requiring dexterity such as venepuncture, injections and removal of sutures.
• Interpretation of results and communication to patients and carers.
• Maintenance and promotion of high standards of professional practice.
• Maintain a duty of care to patients, carers and colleagues.
