Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a Distribution Protection Specialist Lead for a major offshore wind project in Ireland. The role leads design and development of distribution PAC IED configurations, ensuring compliance with performance specs and safety standards.

You will supervise engineers, perform testing, and drive tender documentation. The position requires strong expertise in power system protection and PAC applications, with proven leadership in a project environment and a focus on delivering

Qualifications

Minimum seven years post-qualification experience in substation secondary systems or PAC application engineering.
Experience developing PAC IED specifications and evaluating tender submissions.
Strong knowledge of power system protection principles and devices and their software.
Proven ability to deliver safely, on time, within budget and cost constraints.

Responsibilities

Develop standardised configurations using PAC IED functionality and parameterisation to meet DSO requirements.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to the distribution protection team.
Conduct homologation testing of PAC IED configurations in coordination with senior staff.
Develop and maintain technical specifications, schedules, and tender documents.
Lead design reviews, stakeholder training and management for distribution PAC projects.
