Job summary

DWP is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive our Cloud and DevOps strategy across multiple teams. You will set engineering standards, mentor engineers, and own Azure-based platforms from design through production, ensuring secure, scalable operations.

You will partner with senior leaders to shape the future of our platforms, enable teams to own infrastructure, and champion a strong DevOps culture in a large public-sector environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive DevOps experience across multiple teams in agile settings.
• Experience mentoring DevOps engineers in cross-functional squads.
• Strong background in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/Jenkins).
• Extensive IaC practice and cloud platform configuration (one or more providers).
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies.
• Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Python).
• Deep knowledge of Azure cloud platforms from design to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-team DevOps initiatives and define organisation-wide standards.
• Mentor and support DevOps engineers in agile teams.
• Review Terraform designs and shape platform direction with senior leaders.
