Job summary

DWP Digital's Debt Services Department is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to build a DevOps culture, mentor senior engineers, and raise capability and standards across the organisation. You will lead DevOps engineers, shape infrastructure strategies, and partner with product teams to deliver reliable cloud services for debt management.

Qualifications

Leadership in DevOps and cloud infrastructure
Experience guiding multi-team engineering efforts
Ability to mentor engineers and drive standards
Experience with Azure cloud platforms and IaC tooling
Recruitment and capability-building experience
Agile team collaboration and ownership across services

Responsibilities

Define and refine engineering standards across the organisation.
Foster a culture of engineering ownership of infrastructure alongside software development.
Create capability through training, pastoral care and practice alignment.
Ensure digital services adhere to standards and best practices.
Lead recruitment within the DevOps community and align teams for success.
Mentor and support engineers and trainee DevOps engineers.
