Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Lead Design Engineer / Design Manager to head a multidisciplinary water design team across Manchester, Leeds, Chesterfield and Birmingham with a flexible hybrid working model.

You will drive the technical delivery of water and wastewater projects, manage packages from concept to handover, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with clients and partners across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the technical delivery of water and wastewater engineering projects with multi-disciplinary knowledge, including leading multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Relevant experience in a water company, consultancy or contractor.
• Degree in civil, electrical, mechanical or related engineering subject.
• Chartered or Incorporated with ICE, CIWEM or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead: Drive technical delivery of water, wastewater, and flood infrastructure projects, managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver design lifecycle solutions.
• Manage: Oversee key packages from concept to handover, interfacing with teams, clients and suppliers.
• Collaborate: Work with clients and partners to ensure stakeholder buy-in for solutions.
• Develop: Line management duties and mentoring of junior team members.
