Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Lead Design Engineer / Design Manager to lead a multidisciplinary water design team across the UK North & Midlands, based in Manchester, Leeds, Chesterfield or Birmingham, with hybrid working arrangements.

You will oversee water and wastewater design projects across the full design lifecycle, from feasibility to construction, delivering high-profile schemes and supporting development of junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing the technical delivery of water and wastewater projects with multi-disciplinary knowledge.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and interface with clients and partners.
• Strong background in feasibility and concept design for water sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of water, wastewater, and flood infrastructure projects.
• Manage key work packages from concept to handover.
• Collaborate with clients and partners to secure stakeholder buy-in and drive innovation.
• Develop line management and mentoring for junior team members.
