Job summary

Brook Street is recruiting for a Deputy Manager at a children’s residential home in Leicestershire. The role supports the Registered Manager in day-to-day operations, ensuring a nurturing, safe environment and high-quality care for children aged 7–18.

The post requires leadership, safeguarding knowledge and experience in residential settings. The successful candidate will oversee care plans, risk management and liaise with social workers, education providers and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is required.
• 2 years' experience in a children's residential care home within the last 5 years.
• 1 year's experience supervising or managing staff within a care environment.
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management of the residential home.
• Lead, supervise and support residential care staff.
• Promote a positive, safe and nurturing environment.
• Support care plans, assessments and risk management.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed consistently.
• Work with social workers, education providers and other professionals.
• Support staff development, supervision and performance.
• Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
