Job summary

Key Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a children’s residential home in the UK. The role involves deputising for the Registered Manager, leading staff day-to-day, and delivering safe, child-centred care for children and young people.

You will help maintain high standards, ensure Ofsted compliance, and promote a safeguarding-focused culture within the home.

Qualifications

• This role requires Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in residential care.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and Ofsted readiness.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager and deputise when required.
• Lead, mentor and supervise Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers.
• Conduct supervisions, appraisals and performance reviews.
• Assist with recruitment, induction and staff training.
• Manage rotas and maintain safe staffing levels.
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans are followed.
• Promote safeguarding culture across the home.
• Support audits, quality monitoring and regulatory compliance.
• Build positive relationships with families, social workers and professionals.
