Job summary

Legal & General Group is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join the Retail Analytics Data Hub. This hands‑on technical leadership role designs and builds modern data solutions, with a focus on ELT pipelines, Snowflake, ADF, and dbt Cloud.

You’ll mentor engineers, interact with stakeholders, and help mature data delivery practices across protection, retirement, annuities and pensions. You will lead data modelling, support migration from legacy tools, and work within Scrum teams to plan, refine and

Qualifications

Experienced data engineer with building and operating data pipelines.
Strong data modelling and dimensional modelling knowledge (Kimball).
Experience with Snowflake, ADF, dbt Cloud or equivalent tools.
Ability to translate business needs into clear technical delivery plans.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and working in cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mentor/coach other engineers and improve data engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Design and build modern data solutions across the Retail Analytics Data Hub.
Develop scalable ELT pipelines using Snowflake, ADF and dbt Cloud.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and delivery plans.
Lead data modelling activities, including Kimball fact/dimension design.
Support migration from legacy tooling to Snowflake-centric solutions.
Work within Scrum teams to refine and deliver data engineering work.
Mentor engineers and improve standards, docs, and governance.
