Job summary

Global Insurance Group is hiring a Lead Data Engineer in London (Hybrid) to own and rebuild three data pillars. You will lead a small team and collaborate with external data platform specialists to create a unified, well-governed analytics platform.

You will drive safe data onboarding of new sources within Day 30 and implement canonical business definitions to support enterprise analytics. Strong Snowflake, dbt, and ELT expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering capabilities with modern architectures.
• Experience designing, shipping, and running data platforms.
• Familiarity with data residency, security, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize the Snowflake data platform with proper compute/storage separation.
• Build a modern medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) using ELT tooling.
• Establish canonical data definitions and auditable transformation logic with dbt.
• Expose governed datasets via Power BI and Sigma for fast, reliable insights.
• Onboard new source systems within a Day 30 window and map to the shared model.
