Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Architect to lead design within a multidisciplinary team for data‑centric and infrastructure projects. The role requires coordinating architecture and engineering outputs across disciplines, ensuring governance and quality throughout bid to delivery phases.

The preferred Belfast location reflects a key hub with opportunities to travel UK, Ireland, and Europe, collaborating with global design teams and leveraging advanced digital workflows.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ARB architect with experience on large multidisciplinary design projects, preferably infrastructure.
• Interest to work across infrastructure design areas; collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Degree in architecture; Diploma or Masters preferred.
• Some experience with building contracts is helpful.
• Understanding UK building systems, standards, regs and construction types.
• IT literate; knowledge of CAD software and Microsoft Office TEAMS/Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead designer within a multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinate design across architectural and engineering teams; deliver integrated outputs.
• Ensure governance at bid stage and during delivery.
• Present to clients and prospective clients.
• Support design proposals for new builds, refurbishments and upgrades.
• Review drawings, liaise across disciplines, deliver high‑complexity packages.
