Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to provide analytical leadership for Education and Children's Services. You will oversee a small team and develop reporting, intelligence and insights to drive service improvement and transformation.

You will lead Power BI reporting solutions, promote data usage across services and help improve data quality, governance and performance management. A strong stakeholder manager with BI experience is required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data analysis, business intelligence and performance reporting.
• Experience in leading analytical projects and managing staff across multiple workstreams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with senior managers.
• Experience delivering reporting and dashboards using Power BI, SQL and related tech.
• Experience in data quality, governance and BI improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of analysts, providing direction, support and QA across analytics and reporting.
• Develop and deliver high-quality management information and performance reporting to support decision making across Education and Children's Services.
• Lead the design and implementation of Power BI dashboards and BI solutions.
• Collaborate with senior managers to identify analytical requirements and translate them into data products.
• Support inspection readiness and statutory reporting with robust data and analysis.
• Drive data quality, governance and reporting improvements, aligning with the Council's Data Strategy.
