Job summary

Millbank Holdings is seeking an experienced Controls/Automation Maintenance Engineer to keep a large, automated warehouse and materials handling operation in Staffordshire running at peak performance. You will diagnose complex faults, act as technical authority on shift and lead root-cause investigations.

Working on a rotating day/night shift, you will coach engineers, manage PLC backups and software changes, and drive improvements across safety, reliability and throughput.

Qualifications

• Strong PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
• Experience in automated manufacturing/logistics environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical escalation point for automation and controls.
• Diagnose and resolve complex PLC, electrical, mechanical, electronic and network faults.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Use SCADA, WCS, WMS data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate fault management with customer, Dematic and third-party support.
• Manage PLC backups, version control and software changes.
• Coach engineers and support planned maintenance to maintain standards.
• Drive continuous improvement to reliability, availability and throughput.
• Ensure safety and compliance in all tasks.
