Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking a Controls Automation Maintenance Engineer to join a rotating day/night shift in Staffordshire. You will be the on-shift technical authority, diagnosing complex faults, leading root-cause investigations and ensuring high reliability in a fast-paced automated materials handling environment.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with third-party providers, and drive improvements across PLC, electrical and SCADA systems while maintaining safety and engineering

Qualifications

• Educated to an HNC level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
• Experience in automated, manufacturing, production or logistics environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and engineering docs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with ability to provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• As the technical lead on shift, own complex automation and controls issues and guide the wider engineering team.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for automation, controls and system performance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex PLC, electrical, mechanical, electronic and network faults.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Use SCADA, WCS, WMS data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate fault management between customer, Dematic and third-party support.
• Manage PLC backups, version control, software changes and documentation.
• Coach engineers through complex fault-finding and support planned maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement to reliability and throughput.
• Ensure safety and compliance with standards.
