Job summary

Synergi Recruitment is seeking an Electrical & Control Systems Engineer for a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing site on a fixed night shift (Mon-Fri, 10pm–6am). You will maintain, improve, and optimise electrical, automation, and industrial network systems, acting as front-line technical support and driving continuous improvement across production.

The role requires an apprentice-trained background with 5+ years in controls, PLCs, and automation, and a willingness to work nights.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained background in electrical, controls, or automation engineering.
• C&G / NVQ Level 3 qualification in electrical or controls engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within controls systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PLC control systems, automation, and electrical engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience with production lines, warehousing, or distribution systems.
• Willingness to work a fixed Monday to Friday night shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise electrical, automation, control, and industrial network systems.
• Provide technical support for control system issues across site equipment.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across factory assets.
• Support root cause analyses and ensure follow-up actions.
• Identify training needs for electrical and controls across shift teams.
• Manage software, programme backups, and change logs.
• Identify obsolescence risks and support upgrade projects.
• Act as SME for controls-related equipment in projects.
• Install and maintain new systems per site standards.
