Job summary

Ellison Institute of Technology in Oxford seeks a Controlled Environment Lead to build and run plant growth facilities, lead staff, and oversee experimental growth regimes. You will personally manage greenhouse, chamber and field trial activities while establishing scalable systems and teams as the organization grows.

The role emphasizes publications, IP generation, and translating lab findings into real-world solutions, with strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• PhD in horticulture, plant science, plant pathology, agronomy or related field.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience growing plants in greenhouse/controlled environments.
• Strong knowledge of plant cultivation equipment, facilities, techniques and processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver controlled environment growth environments in chambers and greenhouses with robust contingency planning.
• Lead health, pest and pathogen management to ensure high-quality experimental data.
