Job summary

Tata Steel UK is seeking a Combustion Systems Engineer to join the Packing and Annealing department in Trostre. You will provide, maintain and develop engineering services for combustion systems across end-to-end control, monitoring, electrical, electronic, mechanical and instrumentation aspects.

The role requires degree-educated engineers with knowledge of gas, air, electrical & instrumentation systems and a strong understanding of process safety and functional safety in combustion

Qualifications

• Ideally educated to degree level in engineering.
• Knowledge of gas, air, electrical & instrumentation systems.
• Understand how Process Safety and Functional Safety are applied to combustion systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide, maintain and develop engineering services for combustion systems in Area 1.
• Act as the combustion system expert for the manufacturing area; assess capability and improve safety and efficiency.
• Manage combustion system improvement projects including design, specification, installation and commissioning; ensure safety standards.
• Develop and manage combustion system management and reporting systems.
• Advise on standard operating, QA and combustion system procedures for manufacturing areas.
• Identify combustion system training and development requirements for on site personnel.
• Provide input on monitoring and control of processes with sampling/testing routines for QA and external standards.
• Lead maintenance and testing of SIL rated equipment.
• Act as focal point for combustion system projects, guidance and problem solving.
• Provide advice for site Safety, COMAH and Environmental activities.
