Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, build, and deploy scalable cloud-based applications with a focus on Java and AI/ML integrations. You will collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure solutions align with strategic business goals and drive modernization initiatives.

This role requires strong Java/Python/Node.js skills, experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, and a track record of delivering secure, observable services using modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience.
• Experience with cloud development (AWS) and application design.
• Experience with AI/ML model integration and LLM APIs.
• Proficiency in Java, Python or Node.js.
• Strong experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud platforms.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and event-driven/serverless architectures.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevOps.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Understanding of cloud security best practices.
• Experience with data warehousing (Snowflake, Iceberg) and relational DBs (RDS, Oracle).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and related frameworks (Flyway, Spring, JMS, JDBC, Hibernate/JPA).

• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security.
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to enhance stability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay up to date with emerging Cloud and AI/ML technologies and trends to drive innovation.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote adoption of new technologies.
