Job summary

Turner & Lovell Limited is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead the design of electricity substations across the UK from concept to completion, overseeing drawings, calculations, and specifications for civil structures and infrastructure.

You will lead end-to-end civil design for substations up to 400kV, attend site visits and design reviews, coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, and guide junior engineers to deliver safe, buildable solutions on time and within

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
At least 3 years of industry experience in power-related infrastructure.
Strong understanding of project lifecycles from feasibility to handover.
Familiar with AutoCAD; Civil 3D, Revit or Navisworks advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) across the UK.
Attend site visits, client meetings, and design reviews to monitor progress.
Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet safety and quality requirements.
Manage design risks and develop buildable engineering solutions.
Oversee design reviews and integrate with electrical and structural disciplines.
Guide and support junior team members.
