Job summary

Turner Lovell Limited in the UK is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) from concept through to delivery. You will oversee drawings, calculations and specifications for civil structures and infrastructure, ensuring adherence to safety, quality and programme requirements.

The role involves site visits, client meetings and design reviews, close coordination with electrical and structural disciplines, and mentoring

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
At least 3 years of industry experience in power transmission/substations.
Familiar with project lifecycles from feasibility through handover.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) across the UK.
Attend site visits, client meetings, and design reviews to monitor progress.
Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet safety and quality requirements.
Manage design risks and develop buildable engineering solutions throughout project delivery.
Oversee design reviews and ensure integration with electrical and structural disciplines.
Guide and support junior team members.
