Job summary

TURNER LOVELL LIMITED, a leading engineering design consultant, is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations across the UK from concept to completion.

Responsibilities include coordinating with internal design teams and external stakeholders, attending site visits and design reviews, managing design risks, and guiding junior engineers while ensuring compliance with safety, quality and project constraints.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of industry experience in power transmission/substations or related infra.
• Experience with project lifecycles from feasibility to handover.
• Familiar with AutoCAD; Civil 3D/Revit/Navisworks advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end civil design of electricity substations (up to 400kV) across the UK.
• Attend site visits, client meetings, and design reviews to monitor progress and issues.
• Coordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders to meet requirements within time and budget.
• Manage design risks and develop buildable engineering solutions throughout project development.
• Oversee design reviews and ensure integration with electrical and structural disciplines.
• Guide and support junior team members.
