Zusammenfassung

Gensler's Birmingham Studio is seeking a Project Architect to join our growing Cities team. You will lead the technical delivery, manage client and consultant relationships, and guide the team through all project phases from concept to close-out.

The role requires strong communication, collaboration, and knowledge of UK building regulations. You will mentor junior staff, develop project documentation, and contribute to business development with existing and new clients.

Qualifikationen

• RIBA or ARB registered Architect; preferably with experience in the Lifestyle/Hospitality/Retail industry
• Experience in project leadership, excellent client liaison and team management skills
• Experience with the full project lifecycle, through to delivery
• Knowledge and experience in all phases of interior design / architectural projects
• Knowledge of UK building regulations, standards and building structures
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents
• Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done
• Exprience managing consultant teams and resolving technical and design issues
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skills
• High level of design competence with knowledge of building codes
• Proficiency in Revit desirable

Aufgaben

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with the team to design and deliver major projects for clients.
• Experience in the design and delivery of Cities architecture projects is essential.
• Develop and nurture relationships with existing client contacts to optimize opportunities.
• Maintain awareness of clients’ objectives, plans, and market trends to generate demand for Gensler services.
• Prepare and review proposals, contracts and consultant agreements.
• Manage project lifecycle from kickoff to close-out and turnover.
• Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and officials.
• Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex design challenges.
• Maintain project manuals and specifications.
• Conduct site visits, process submittals, substitutions, and RFIs during construction.
• Ensure clarity of requirements, deliverables, timelines, and visibility against fees.
• Coordinate with consultants across structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, civil disciplines.
• Contribute to business development with current and potential clients.
• Support project reporting and staffing discussions to improve delivery and financial objectives.
• Review internal accounting documents and assist in draft project billing.
• Collaborate with Design Director and marketing to document project story and arrange photography.
