Job summary

Health Recruit Network is recruiting for a Registered Children’s Home Manager to oversee an established residential home in the Liverpool area. The role combines leadership of the childcare team with oversight of safeguarding, regulatory compliance and Ofsted standards.

You will ensure care plans, risk assessments and records are current, provide supervision and development for staff, and work with social workers and professionals to support children aged 7–18 in a good-rated home.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within children's residential services.
• Experience in an Ofsted-registered setting and knowledge of safeguarding requirements.
• Experience leading and developing residential childcare staff.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the home's residential childcare team.
• Ensuring the service operates in line with legislation, regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.
• Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are current and effectively implemented.
• Providing supervision, guidance and performance management to staff.
• Recruitment, induction and ongoing development of the team.
• Monitoring quality of care and identifying areas for improvement.
• Maintaining records and preparing for regulatory monitoring and inspection.
• Collaborating with social workers, families, education professionals and other agencies.

Education

A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent
