Job summary

Home Instead in Tamworth is seeking an experienced Lead Care Professional to launch services for new clients and then mentor the matched Care Professionals. You will oversee initial visits, ensure compliance and provide coaching to maintain high standards of care.

The role is a 30-hour week with alternate weekends off, offering predictable time off and a supportive team environment focused on dignity and person-centred care.

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a care setting.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travelling between clients.
• Warm, patient and reliable approach, with the confidence to make decisions and lead by example.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Starting the service for new clients, delivering their first visits hands-on and building trust from the outset.
• Supporting the Care Professionals matched with each client, helping them settle in and understand the client's needs.
• Carrying out compliance checks, including spot checks and observations, to maintain high standards of care.
• Mentoring and coaching care colleagues, including inducting new starters.
• Keeping accurate, timely records and administering medication in line with policy.
• Building strong relationships with clients, families and visiting professionals.
• Raising safeguarding or quality concerns promptly and helping us meet CQC standards.
• Covering visits when needed.
