Job summary

Transportukbus is seeking a PSV Chargehand Day at Twickenham Depot to lead day-to-day bus maintenance. You will supervise repairs, diagnose faults, and ensure outputs meet safety and quality targets. Expect to coordinate with the Fleet Manager and engineering teams.

The role requires NVQ Level 2, IRTEC/SMT qualifications, and hybrid awareness. Some PCV training may be provided. A strong maths and English background is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ level 2 in PSV or HGV maintenance.
• Current IRTEC and SMT qualifications.
• Hybrid awareness and hybrid fault diagnostics qualifications.
• PCV licence is a bonus; training can be provided.
• Strong maths and English; ability to read service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and maintain buses.
• Check quality of repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic faults.
• Record faults and work on a tablet.
• Delegate work and monitor outputs.
• Follow safety instructions and report issues.
• Update Service Manager on progress and assist planning.
• Possibly cover some Service Manager tasks when needed.
