Job summary
Thames Travel, as part of its Didcot depot operations, is seeking a PSV Shift Technician to maintain and repair a modern fleet of passenger vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability and availability.
The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair and experience with PSV/HGV environments, with strong fault-finding skills and HV/AC knowledge desirable. Ongoing training and career progression are offered.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Experience in PSV/HGV, coach, military, or heavy vehicle environments
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience on DAF and Cummins engines advantageous
- Good understanding of electrical systems and diagnostics
- HV awareness desirable
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
Responsibilities
- Routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Mechanical and electrical fault finding
- Diagnostic testing and repairs
- Maintenance and repair of DAF and Cummins-powered vehicles
- Defect rectification and breakdown response
- MOT preparation and safety inspections
- Supporting fleet reliability and operational performance
- Ensuring work complies with DVSA standards
