Job summary

Conrad Consulting is recruiting an experienced Building Surveyor / Project Manager to lead a varied portfolio of surveying and construction projects in Colchester, Essex. The role blends surveying and project management across multiple sectors, focusing on delivering high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will manage projects from design through to completion, liaising with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying or Project Management or related discipline.
• Experience managing construction projects from inception through to completion.
• Experience preparing specifications and tender documentation, including intermediate NBS writing.
• Experience preparing and managing project programmes using Microsoft Project.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive and commercially aware with commitment to high-quality work.
• MRICS status, or willingness to work towards RICS chartership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a varied portfolio of building surveying and construction projects.
• Act as Lead Consultant, coordinating project teams and liaising with clients and contractors.
• Prepare and review specifications, tender docs and construction information.
• Manage project programmes, risks, deadlines and resources.
• Coordinate design development and drawings.
• Assist with planning and building regulations applications.
• Review tenders and advise clients on submissions.
• Chair project meetings and maintain clear communications.
• Administer contracts and monitor progress.
• Manage project costs and final accounts on surveying or PM commissions.
