Workforce Staffing is seeking a Lead Bookkeeper for Cannock, West Midlands. You will manage client accounts, oversee a small team of bookkeepers, and ensure services meet the firm’s high standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within a practice setting.
• Leadership experience mentoring a team.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, VAT returns, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping for a client portfolio.
• Lead and develop a small team of bookkeepers.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
• Prepare and review VAT returns.
• Process payroll and CIS compliance.
• Liaise with clients as the trusted point of contact.
• Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations.
