Job summary

Reed in West Sussex is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a modern, growing accountancy practice. You will manage a portfolio of clients across SMEs, charities and agricultural businesses, handling bookkeeping, VAT and monthly/quarterly management accounts.

With hybrid working in West Sussex, you’ll work closely with clients and internal teams, offering cloud accounting support using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dext and Fathom, plus training and ongoing client support.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification, part qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts and VAT returns.
• Strong bookkeeping knowledge and attention to detail.
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dext and Fathom.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• A proactive and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients

• Performing control account reconciliations

We're partnering with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice seeking a Bookkeeper to join their busy team. This is a varied role offering responsibility for your own portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, including SMEs, charities and agricultural businesses.

Working closely with clients and internal teams, you'll provide bookkeeping support, prepare management accounts, handle VAT returns, and help businesses get the best from cloud accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You'll ideally have:
