Job summary

Celebrity Cruises is seeking a CDP Baker to oversee bakery operations on board. You will manage production, ensure quality and presentation of bakery items, and forecast needs for daily menus.

You will coach a diverse team, ensure USPH compliance, control food costs, and coordinate with stores and senior officers. Strong leadership, communication, and accounting basics are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience as a CDP Baker in upscale hospitality or cruise ship settings (shipboard preferred).
• Culinary school degree required.
• Strong management, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service, teambuilding and conflict resolution abilities.
• Knowledge of service standards and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
• Strong planning, coaching, organising, staffing, controlling and evaluating skills.
• Proficient with basic accounting concepts, e.g., Debits/Credits and journal entries.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence; good rapport with senior officers and corporate office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation and control of the Bakery Shop and daily production per company policy.
• Direct, coach, support, supervise, and evaluate direct reports with Head Baker.
• Oversee production, quality, and presentation of bread for daily menus.
• Prepare production forecasts and monitor leftovers to control food costs.
• Supervise bread display setup across buffets.
• Comply with USPH rules daily and maintain cleanliness per Chef’s schedule.
• Prepare for USPH inspections by keeping pantry shops ready.
• Arrange requisitions and transport items from main stores to bakery shop.
• Ensure recipes, master lists, and yields meet company standards.
• Complete daily consumption recap and ensure staff punctuality and uniform standards.
• Attend meetings and training; coach and train team members; perform other duties as required.
