Job summary

Infused Solutions Ltd is seeking a Lead Engineer (TypeScript & Node.js) to lead a small, capable team from our Kent office. This hands-on leadership role combines technical excellence with people management, architecture ownership and delivery accountability.

You will drive backend engineering, set technical direction, mentor engineers, collaborate with Product, Delivery and Data teams, and champion AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity and quality.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proven track record of leading and mentoring software engineers.
• Experience owning technical direction and architecture in a product domain.

Responsibilities

• Lead and line manage a small team of software engineers.
• Define and champion best practices for TypeScript and Node.js backend development.
• Set technical direction for your team and domain.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure backend systems.
• Coach engineers through pairing, feedback and guidance.
• Develop backend capability and broaden engineers' skills.
• Own technical decisions balancing innovation and delivery.
• Collaborate with Product, Delivery, Commercial and Data teams.
• Champion AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Represent team work through demonstrations and updates.
• Manage technical debt strategically.
• Identify new technologies to improve engineering practices.
• Dedicate time to your own learning and development.
